10 Ways To Create Patients without Using Social Media
There are so many more effective ways you can market and attract clients into your practice without socials- especially if you are an in-person practice (and many of these I use for my online business too)!
So, if social media has been making you feel anxious and dread, here's a short list of things I'd recommend doing to bring clients into your practice that don't involve social media! They may seem simple, but I've seen time and time again how powerful these small steps are.
Here are 10 ways you can start generating clients in your health care practice without using socials:
Make sure your current clients know you are accepting new clients! Your best referral source are the people who have experienced your services first hand- be sure to mention to your people that you are accepting referrals!
Connect with other allied health care providers in your local area and/or niche. So many clinicians get trapped thinking that they need to market to MDs when actually most referrals happen BETWEEN allied health care pros. Make a point to connect with providers that are serving your current clients and learn about them (and likely they'll also want to learn about you!).
Show up in your community. Yes, in real life. Shop local and, as we head into the summer, attend local festivals and events! Talk to other local business owners, learn what they do and give them opportunity to learn what you do! Awareness is everything. Speaking of...
Make sure your friends and family know what you do. I know this one sounds lame but you'd be surprised how many people in your life don't fully understand what you do. Make a point of asking them about their work and ask if it's ok to share about yours. They will want to support you, they maybe just don't know how.
Collaborate with other local businesses, brands, colleagues. This one's especially for my solo practice owners. You don't have to do it alone! Think about how you could contribute to someone else's business, connect with them and pitch it! These are win-wins!
Pour into your own energy. I know, I know this one might seem VERY counterintuitive but when we give ourselves time and space to re-energize as humans we are able to show up so much better in our clinical practice. Energy attracts and is contagious so if your energy is on low, start with this and half your work will be done for you! I should have made this Step 1...
Send mail! A handwritten note in the mail??? What? How delightful! Receiving mail these days is SO rare and there is no better way to surprise a delight those who support and already refer to you. Let's make them feel your appreciation.
Leave google reviews for other businesses that you appreciate! Some of my best referral sources for my practice have been a local women's clothing store and coffee shop. Google reviews are so important to small businesses and similar to receiving mail, small businesses are delighted when they recieve random reviews!
Seek out local networking events. This may depend on your area but even most small towns have networking events happening every month. You may have to search and ask around for it but these in-person events are a great time where it's known that you will talk about yourself and share the work you do.
Update your paper marketing. The past few years, paper products and leave behinds weren't as popular but updating your business cards and/or informational postcards is a great reason to revisit some of your referral sources and will have you feeling like they are a better representation of your current practice. We are always evolving so our marketting should too!
I hope that feels supportive💜 Remember, there are so many ways to market your practice. There’s no one way, just your way- it has to feel good and sustainable for you and you only!
PS. And if you love socials, that's great- keep it up! AND make sure it's not the only way you are getting yourself out there- diversity is key!
